Hanover Fireworks Factory

I’m fascinated by this little piece of history. Back in the day, Hanover was home to the National Fireworks Company. During war time, the factory was the biggest employer around, operation around the clock, making munitions for the war effort. National Fireworks had factories in Ohio and down the eastern seaboard, including two in Hanover and a foundry in Whitman.

Both Robert and Doris tell stories of family members working in the factory:

Bob Kendrigan b.1943

Doris Mathews b.1933
