First interviews

Last night, I joined my dad, Cornelius Connolly, and his cronies at the Elks Lodge to try out my new mic and to hone my interview skills. I learned alot, not only about the hardware but about the men involved. What struck me the most was what little they had and how happy they were growing up.

A simpler time.

While my kids want the next iPhone and Xbox, my dad and his friends were happy to have a stolen mop handle and rubber bicycle tubing so they could play games with their friends.

RIP Jack Mathieson

We lost Jack Mathieson last week. He was a kind man and a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. I’m posting his stories here for his family to listen to… Rest in peace Jack.

When Doris was a young child, her parents divorced and she and her siblings were sent to live in an orphanage. I am in awe of the strong, kind, loving woman that Doris has grown up to become after such a traumatic and challenging start. Hear her story:
